Thor Amet Riordon An Excerpt From The Auto-Bio Releasing Summer 2011
Below is an excerpt from a book that I’m writing, it will be available for purchase sometime this year. It’s an Auto-Biography and the first of many books of this nature by me describing the incredible Journey that WE ALL MUST ENDURE if we are to get any type of satisfaction out of this existence, this Life here on Earth. A chronological compilation of situations and scenarios that I imagine would keep the reader right on the edge of their seats for what is sure to be a Journey into the Mind and Heart of each and every one of US, each and every one of YOU as well as a Journey deep into that which is Thor Amet Riordon. The intention is to help add some Hope to those who think that ‘these things only happen to me’ and ‘why does Life have to be SO HARD? it’s like the world is against me!’. Believe me, we have ALL felt that way at some point or another and one of my goals is to give you some reference points from my Life that I hope will make it easier for you to get through YOUR walls and YOUR obstacles. You see, it’s not that my Life has been any harder or worse or that I have had more struggles. I have just been through A LOT and I am willing to share with all those out there like me who want, no yearn for a FULL existence, my trial and tribulations so they have an idea of how many others out there are JUST LIKE YOU. All those out there like me who realize that the greatest loss in Life is the difference between Human Potential and Actual Performance. The difference between what YOU can do and what YOU ACTUALLY do. You Must Participate. ~Maximize Your Creation~ David Parker CEO/Co-Founder of Nuriche, LLC. If I can help just 1 person avoid some of the struggles and hardships that I have endured then I feel like my mission is accomplished. I love to teach and help and train and develop. It is one of the primary things in Life that Drive me. I look forward to the time in my Life when I work for FREE coaching kids skateboarding and snoboarding again. These were the Greatest ‘JOBS’ of my Life. And that is WHY I persist the way I do. And WHY I will Never EVER Quit. And after reading this book, neither should you. “If you want it bad enough you WILL find a way. If you don’t then you WILL most likely find an excuse” I read that on Facebook today but I cannot remember who said it. I cannot take credit for it but it sure does ring through to me. How about You? Will you Find A Way or Make Excuses??
This particular passage was written about 7 years ago and the reason I chose this one today is because I feel that it really exemplifies the mission that so many of us are on. I almost felt as I was reading through this today that I had to actually spend the last 15 years training and practicing and studying all these Leaders and concepts that I ALREADY KNEW. I merely needed to continually remind myself to be able to Persevere. This is why it is SO VITALLY IMPORTANT to keep notes of YOUR Life, to keep a journal and keep track of everything that happens so that you can go back and learn from whatever happened to you at that time in your Life that you dealt with that has ultimately led you here. You are here because of all the choices that you have made up until now. You are a result of every decision you have ever made, all the place and faces you have ever seen and all the jobs you’ve had. Where you are right now is exactly where you have guided yourself to. Life doesn’t happen to YOU.
So I hope you can see how important it can be to have notes to look back upon so you may remember the great stuff and learn from the bad stuff. It is these notes that I draw my inspiration from, my motivation from and it from these same notes that I am continually reminded of WHY I Persist without and recognition of failure. No longer will failure be the payment for my struggle. I look through these journals just often enough to remember WHY I am here. And that is to help YOU. I live to serve and I love to see others excited and happy. There really is nothing greater than helping someone achieve one of those ‘Ah-Ha!!’ moments in Life. It is a blessing to be able to give that to someone, to as many other Humans as I can before I leave this planet for another…..

2005, October 20
Well I guess I should finish the last story since that’s where I am now, mentally. You know, that relationship with _____ was so dysfunctional. We had Fun. I was her long-haired-tattooed-rebellion-phase-piss-off-her-parents-boyfriend and she was my pay-my-rent-and-phonebill-take-me-to-sushi-and-steak-dinnner-every-night-on-daddy’s-dime-and-loved-to-use-sex-against-me-girlfriend. At that time in our lives it was perfect. And it’s a completely natural phase for everyone to go through at sometime in their lives. I really think that I overanalyzed it for way longer than was probably necessary but then I do believe that everything happens for a reason, exactly when and why it’s supposed to happen. (Footnote: This is a topic of this book that will be established and reiterated constantly as I firmly believe NOTHING happens by accident, BUT YOU MUST PAY ATTENTION TO THESE SO-CALLED COINCIDENCES) I think I really needed to learn from that relationship everything I did (still learning, in fact!) and equally she needed to learn a few things as well. She got to experience Life from a struggling persons’ perspective and I got to see the world through the eyes of a person who really never had to worry about anything really serious or life-threatening. You know, things like hunger and homelessness…these things that I am STILL dealing with over 5 years later. I am not saying that her issues are not real because to her they are VERY real. And I too have my own set of problems (I actually see them as obstacles to be overcome) that are also very real. I am so thankful and grateful for everything that I have, and everything I have learned. I am on an Incredible Journey and I love it more and more every minute. I finally have a mission, not just to be in Love or to be filthy rich. I now have this incredible mission to help as many other people as possible to achieve whatever it is that THEY are trying to achieve, be it better Health and Vitality or Self-Esteem and Motivation or maybe they want to learn Perseverance and Tenacity. I want to help people learn the ability to Never Give Up, Never EVER Quit no matter what the circumstances. No matter what the ‘odds of success’ are. If you KNEW you could never fail, what would YOU try to accomplish?? One common thread that almost always rings through in all my writings, no matter how bleak the content was/is the ability to see the bright side, to stay positive and focused on the task at hand-Living, NOT JUST Existing!-and that to me is truly amazing. It really is absolutely remarkable what Humans can endure. I have always seen myself as a rather negative or pessimistic-type person. I have always claimed to be a Realist-I see things how they truly are and I act accordingly. And that has proved to a good strategy so far. What can I say, nobody’s perfect. Sure as fuck not me. I am always looking to improve on what I have, and what I have I built by design. It’s mine and I own it. And I'm not looking for a trade-in on this Avatar, only an upgrade on it's surroundings. I am driving the wheels off it. And you should too. As far as I know this is the only one I get and I am going to maximize MY creation. The greatest loss in my life will not be the difference between my potential and my performance because I WILL ACT NOW and I WILL PERSIST UNTIL I SUCCEED. I have always said that I am like a Dandelion; you can cut me down and will ALWAYS come back. And this time I’m coming back with an Army. I would like to leave you with a passage that I feel is one of the most important parts of this message that I can give to you, the reader:
Don’t’ be so hard on Your Self. Don’t be so hard on others. Not everyone is as smart as you, or as sharp. None are as educated or aware or perceptive. Almost no one has your same views or outlook on Life and future. Nobody has your same goals or perspective. You are Natures Greatest Miracle. No one has your eyes, your hair, your voice or your brain. Not one person that came before you, no one that lives today and no one that will EVER come after you, will be just like you. You are Unique. You are different. Don’t try so hard to ‘fit in’. Be Yourself. BE PROUD to be different. Promote it! Sell it!! Announce it to The World!!! Stand Out. Don’t just exist. Live Life to the Fullest, Everyday. Go out and Make Today THE Greatest Day of YOUR Life!! And someone else’s day too!!
